There are rare books in the library
The Hardayal Municipal Heritage Public Library, located in Chandni Chowk, was established in 1862. The History of the World of 1677, the handwritten Bhagavata Purana of 1810, the Bhrigu Samhita, the Mahabharata in Persian, the Mahabharata by Abul Fazl, the Navratna of Akbar, the Quran in Hindi and the first book of Brij Bhasha are also available in the library.
There are eight thousand rare books, 350 manuscripts, gazetteers from 1917 to 1988 and one lakh 70 thousand books. The work of digitization is going on. Which will be completed in the next four months.
Renovation done on the initiative of Harsh Vardhan: Jai Prakash
Mayor of North Delhi, Jai Prakash said that it is only because of Dr. Harsh Vardhan that the renovation of this library has been possible. Because he had provided a fund of three crores for this. Out of which about 1.80 lakh are being renovated, the books are being digitized with the remaining amount. so that it may be preserved forever. He told that this building is a protected building, so its restoration has also been done under the supervision of experts.
