Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill in the new building of Parliament has marked the beginning of a new future for the country. He stressed that it is his government’s policy to open new doors of future for girls. Addressing a job fair through video conference after distributing appointment letters to over 51,000 newly appointed employees in various government departments, Modi also stressed on the increasing use of technology in governance. He told the newly appointed employees that the use of technology in government schemes has curbed corruption and complexities and increased reliability and comfort. Citing the facilities like Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), train ticket booking and digital locker etc. being provided to the beneficiaries of various schemes through the use of technology, he advised the newly appointed employees to work in the spirit of ‘citizen-first’.
